Some photos I made as a teaser for a coming music video. I’m stoked!
So Matt Rise Above joined us the first two days of tour to film some footage for a music video!
The music video, which will come out as soon as Matt is done with the cutting and editing, will be for a song of Hopeward Bound!
Can you guess which one it’s going to be?
R.I.P. THE CARRIER
Spontaneously shot and edited – from a given occasion.
With a last destination of their farewell tour through Europe in Stuttgart, The Carrier celebrated their second last show ever with a venue filled to the edges with fans.
Only on this particular date, their tour and the one we’ve been on with Azriel, The Haverbrook Disaster and Demoraliser, overlapped. So we had the exclusive chance to tape some bits of this awesome show!
Thanks to The Carrier and everyone who made this gig possible, thanks to the bands mentioned above, thanks to Matt West for doing additional camera work, and last but not least, thank you to everyone who came out to share these moments with all of us.
The new merch is online NOW! Go for it!
Last night was so short, my whole day was such a pain. Above you can see the reason. Shooting (or this time: getting shot) and editing merch pics in the middle of the night, then having a productivity-flash and launching a new website. I’m glad I can enjoy a glass of bourbon right now and then go to sleep, haha.
Wish you all a nice weekend. I’m going to be shooting a tour advertising video tomorrow and then watching Star Wars Episode I in 3D with my closest friends. It’s so nice having so much to do even if it gets me a headache regularly..
Haha, do you hear? I’m the man! :D
Pretty fuckin hated to shoot that as of light issues. But during the editing process I regained hope for maximum sufficiency. Hope you like it!
Carpathian - Monochrome Live Video
Since I’ve been blogging Carpathian stuff (one of my favourite hardcore hands, RIP) I thought I’d repost this. Matt Lebowski an aspiring music video director got in touch with me and told me he was off to see Carpathian near his home town. He said he was filming it to do a live footage video. He knew that I was pretty gutted I couldn’t make this tour with them and Defeater (due to there being not enough van space), so he dedicated the video to me.
It’s really touching to see people aspiring to do great things with video, and along the route dedicating something to me. I started off filming bands live, and it’s a cruel kinda world because you often get looked down upon for starting out in videos this way. You can be misinterpreted as someone who’s purely out to hang with the bands. But in the long run it makes it even more rewarding when you slog through the naysayers, and start making progress. I’m all about stamping out, hard, the people that shut down others who are merely trying to make a dream come true. We don’t want you fucking people in our lives. Well done to Matt for this, I look forward to seeing his career progress.
You can check out his blog here - http://notafilmmakeryet.tumblr.com (he’s posting great content and keeping it real, you should all be linking up with this guy!)
Ryan, thank you very much for your kind words and support!
I totally agree with your message; Don’t ever let your dreams get belittled.
You’re a maker, and this is what inspires thousands of followers.
I already wrote you that if you’re ever in Germany again, tell me.
I owe you a high five.
Here is the Stick To Your Guns live video I promised. I totally loved to do it, the light turned out pretty intense, there was no kind of colour correction at all, I just added the title and branded it with the Rise Above logo.
Thank you, Stick To Your Guns, for this awesome show, and thank you The Haverbrook Disaster for taking me there. Also thanks to the crowd, you gave your best. And those crowds are making better videos, haha.
Feel free to share and retweet it! Spread the music of this excellent band.
Totally enjoyed this evening, too.
The Enough Is Enough video is just rendering and might be up tomorrow.
Good times w/ Stick To Your Guns!
Some of the pics I shot ten days ago.
